Come learn a simple way to make a two fabric bargello quilt that measures approximately 46 x 57 inches. Only 2 fabrics are used in this project! You will choose a lengthwise graduated blended (Ombre) stripe with consistent color along the selvage edges and a secondary companion fabric (for the insert and borders and binding). This secondary fabric can be anything you like that goes with the ombre material you have chosen. hat secondary material can blend with the ombre or have high contrast.

Keep in mind that the secondary fabric will touch BOTH selvage edges of the stripe. To aid in selection of the secondary material, unroll some of the ombre and position the secondary fabric bolt in the middle and bring the two ombre fabric selvages to the edges of the secondary bolt. You want to make sure that you see ALL the colors in the stripe against the secondary fabric. Make sure that you don't choose anything directional for the secondary fabric. Basic knowledge of how to utilize your sewing machine to baste is helpful. Also come prepared with your fabric pressed well with starch.

You could also cut down the material utilized for your secondary fabric and choose a different color for your border to make your quilt pop even more.
