What to Bring for Service

For a routine tune-up (your machine is working fine, just due for maintenance):

  • Sewing machine
  • Foot pedal
  • Power cord
  • Regular sewing foot (for straight stitch and zig-zag)
  • Bobbin case and one bobbin

Having trouble with your machine?

Before you bring it in, try these quick fixes; they solve about 95% of issues:

  • Re-thread your top thread. It sounds simple, but threading problems are the most common culprit.
  • Check your bobbin. Make sure it's seated correctly in the tension and that you're using the right bobbin for your machine.
  • Change your needle. Every quilt deserves a fresh needle! We recommend swapping yours out every 8 hours of sewing time.

Still having issues? Bring in a fabric sample showing the problem, along with the thread (top and bobbin) and any accessories you were using when it happened. This helps us diagnose things faster.

For embroidery machine repair:

  • Embroidery module
  • Sewing machine
  • Bobbin and bobbin case
  • Embroidery foot
  • Hoop
  • Thread you were using
  • Sample of the issue

You don't need to bring accessories or luggage, but we do recommend using your machine's carrying case for safe transport.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my sewing machine serviced?

We recommend a professional tune-up once a year for regular sewers, or after every major project if you're putting in heavy hours.

Do you repair machines you don't sell?

Absolutely. We service and repair all makes and models, though we specialize in the brands we carry.

How long does a typical repair take?

Most routine services and minor repairs are completed within a few days. More complex repairs may take longer if we need to order parts.
