Handi Quilter Live! @NQC FAQ

Do I need to own a longarm to attend?

No—most attendees do not. In fact, these classes are designed specifically for quilters who are exploring longarm quilting and want real hands-on experience before purchasing a machine.

This is one of the best ways to learn what longarm quilting feels like, what features matter most, and what kind of setup fits your quilting style.

Who is this event best for?

This event is ideal for three types of quilters:

  • Future longarm owners who are highly ready to purchase and want to learn before investing
  • Newer longarm quilters who want to build strong foundational skills
  • Experienced owners looking to expand into Pro-Stitcher, custom quilting, rulers, or advanced techniques

No matter your level, the goal is the same: confidence, clarity, and progress.

I’m a beginner—will I feel overwhelmed?

Not at all. We offer clearly structured skill tracks so you can choose classes that match your comfort level. Many sessions are designed specifically for true beginners, with supportive instruction and step-by-step guidance.

What if I already own a longarm?

You are absolutely welcome. We reserve space for current owners who want skill-building, troubleshooting help, or advanced Pro-Stitcher instruction.

These classes are a great way to get more out of the machine you already have.

Will I get to try machines and tools during class?

Yes. Every class includes hands-on time at the longarm, guided by expert instructors. You’ll experience quilting techniques, feet, rulers, Pro-Stitcher tools, and creative project methods in a real classroom setting.

How do I choose the right classes?

We’ve organized classes into
three tracks:

  • Track 1: Discovery & Confidence (Newer quilters and future owners)
  • Track 2: Skill building & Next Steps (Some experience, ready to grow)
  • Track 3: Advanced & Pro-Stitcher Mastery (Strong experience and deeper techniques)

You can mix and match across tracks based on your goals.

What will I leave with?

Attendees leave with:

  • Practical longarm experience
  • Finished class projects or stitched samples
  • New quilting skills you can apply immediately
  • Confidence about your next step, whether that’s purchasing a machine or leveling up your current one
