By transitioning the thread seamlessly from the vertical mast assembly to the lower tension mechanics, the pigtail design permits rapid, on-the-fly threading without requiring manual slip-knotting or loop feeding, ensuring an unhindered linear feed trajectory.

Installation and Placement

Proper spatial orientation of this component is vital to prevent uneven bobbin filling ("coning") or loose, spongy tension profiles.

• Spatial Alignment: The guide anchors directly into the lower base block of the main vertical thread mast. It sits roughly 0.5 inches to the horizontal left of the primary plastic tension knob, with the open loop facing directly outward toward the technician or operator.
• Mechanical Fastening: The linear mounting shank drops vertically into a machined receiving collar. Securement is achieved via an internal hex-head set screw embedded in the base collar.
• Required Tools: A standard 1.5mm / 0.050-inch Allen key (originally provided within the baseline winder maintenance kit) is required to torque the set screw. Care must be taken not to over-tighten, preventing stripping of the aluminum alloy base collar.
